General Candy Company Receives Award for 101 Years of Business

On November 18th, 2025, License Collector Mavis Thompson, Esq., congratulated Jack and Bill Hellwege, Owners of General Candy Company, for 101 years of candy distribution to St. Louis and beyond.

Jack and Bill have both worked at General Candy Company for about 50 years, serving a host of buyers including pharmacies, grocery stores, and in-store customers. Jack’s son-in-law, John, has enjoyed meeting the vibrant and diverse people they service every day in his first year-and-a-half at the store. Congratulations, and keep up the good work!
