Public Notice

The City of St. Louis Planning Commission will conduct a Presentation and Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. to consider the Adoption (approval) of Amendment #19 of the Strategic Land Use Plan (SLUP) of the St. Louis Comprehensive Plan. Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent Public Health Orders, the Public Hearing will be conducted by videoconference.

The SLUP was adopted in January 2005 and was most recently amended by SLUP Amendment #18 on February 6, 2019. As was the case with SLUP Amendment #18, proposed SLUP Amendment #19 is a general update of the SLUP map. SLUP amendments typically occur on an annual basis (with multiple sites located throughout the City). Each SLUP amendment occurs after a required Public Hearing and approval by the Planning Commission.

City of St. Louis Planning and Urban Design Agency (PDA) staff will make a Presentation regarding the proposed SLUP changes for 14 sites scattered throughout the City as part of PDA’s annual SLUP map update. These changes are based on action items previously approved by the Planning Commission (redevelopment plans, rezonings, etc.) since the last SLUP map update when significant progress has been made on a development project at those sites or when the SLUP’s “adjacency rule” was used, as well as incremental development projects that have occurred over time.

A list and maps of the 14 sites can be found here.

The public comment review period begins on Friday, June 12, 2020 and will extend through the Public Hearing at the Wednesday, July 1, 2020 Planning Commission meeting. The meeting will be accessible for online viewing and comments from the public on any Internet device (smartphone, tablet or computer). Instructions on how to access the Public Hearing by videoconference (via Zoom) will be available on the July 1, 2020 Planning Commission meeting agenda webpage -- https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/events/eventdetails.cfm?Event_ID=26413 -- which will be posted on Monday, June 29, 2020. The Public Hearing will follow PDA’s standard rules and regulations.

Written review comments regarding proposed SLUP Amendment #19 will be accepted through the Public Hearing and should be submitted to Roman Kordal, City of St. Louis PDA, 1520 Market St., Suite 2000, St. Louis, MO 63103, or via e-mail to kordalr@stlouis-mo.gov. Following the Presentation and Public Hearing, the Planning Commission may vote on the Adoption (approval) of SLUP Amendment #19 at the July 1, 2020 Planning Commission meeting or at a subsequent Planning Commission meeting. For further information, please contact Roman Kordal at (314) 657-3872.
