SLATE Presents Accommodation for Success 2024: Bridging Opportunities for Employers and Job Seekers with Disabilities

The event is specifically focused on job seekers with disabilities and helping employers foster inclusivity in the workplace.

The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE), in collaboration with St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson Franklin Consortium, Madison County, IL, and St. Clair County, IL workforce development boards are thrilled to announce Accommodation for Success '24. The event is specifically focused on job seekers with disabilities and helping employers foster inclusivity in the workplace. 

This two-part event is scheduled for March 22, 2024, at the St. Louis Community College - Forest Park Campus Student Center. 

The morning session (8 am - 12 pm) is tailored specifically to educating employers and will feature workshops covering essential topics such as legal insights, accommodations, and firsthand experiences aimed at enhancing their understanding and practices in hiring individuals with disabilities.

The afternoon session (1 pm - 3 pm), provides an opportunity for job seekers to network with potential employers committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. The event promises to provide a platform for meaningful connections and opportunities for all attendees.

“Each year, one of the Local Workforce Development Boards is charged with the task of leading this remarkable event, and the City of St. Louis-SLATE is proud to serve as this year’s host. Collectively, this is our opportunity to provide meaningful outreach, connection, and solutions to ensuring employers have the proper education and accommodations for job seekers with disabilities and that job seekers have the tools needed and are empowered to tackle today’s workforce,” said Fredrecka McGlown, Executive Director of SLATE. 

Employers such as Ameren, Boeing, American Water, FedEx, McCormac Baron, Challenge Unlimited, eFleets, Watlow Electric Manufacturing Co, bioTAB Healthcare, to name a few have committed to the event.
