Holmes, SLATE Executive Director, was elected to serve on the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Workforce Development Council (WDC) 2015 Board of Trustees for a one-year term. The WDC play a role in the workforce development efforts of urban areas, strengthening the ability of cities to meet the needs of their citizens, particularly economically disadvantaged individuals such as those with serious skill deficiencies, dislocated workers, and others with special barriers to employment, including youth.

"On behalf of the City of St. Louis, I am honored to again be part of such a dedicated group," said Michael Holmes. "The Trustees play an important role in promoting practices that work, that help create income and career opportunities in cities across America."
