Are you receiving SNAP benefits and looking to boost your skills or find a better job SkillUP can help you take the next step toward a stronger future, at no cost to you.
SkillUP is a free job training and employment support program for individuals who receive SNAP benefits. Offered at various locations across Missouri, including the SLATE Missouri Job Center, SkillUP provides the tools and resources you need to prepare for a better-paying job and greater career opportunities.
What Can SkillUP Do for You?
SkillUP helps you build a brighter future through personalized support and training options. Services may include:
- Hands-on workshops and classes to build in-demand skills
- Short-term training and certification programs for high-growth industries
- English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction
- Help with costs related to childcare, transportation, or other training needs
- Guidance to help you identify your strengths and career interests
- Assistance to create or update your résumé
- Connections to local employers ready to hire
How to Get Started
To enroll in SkillUP at the SLATE Missouri Job Center, please visit us in person. You’ll watch a brief orientation video and meet with a team member who will determine your eligibility and help you get started.
