TITLE: Special Projects Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff and Counsel
Employees in this classification will assist in evaluating, analyzing, planning, implementing, and tracking ad managing special projects on behalf of the Treasurer’s Office; serves as project manager for high priority projects; manages assigned division staff; and performs related duties as assigned. These projects will vary in length, purpose and complexity.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field; two years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with a range of technology-based platforms and processes, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); WordPress; MailChimp; Asana; Google Apps. Outstanding attention to detail and deadlines, particularly around project management, and data analysis. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to draft plans using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to communicate effectively verbally as well as through written & electronic communication. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with diverse groups of people; and must possess passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. Valid driver’s license, good driving record and be insurable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Works on special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff and Counsel. Follows-up on ongoing projects.
Prepare reports, monitor progress and report to supervisor and senior staff. Assists in coordinating projects with the assistance of administrative support staff and external entities as assigned to make the best use of Treasurer’s Office resources. May assist in the development of strategic and technical plans and budgets required to complete assigned projects. Develops mechanisms to track the implementation of each special project and distributes appropriate project management reports outlining the implementation, status updates and resulting outcomes. Updates Chief of Staff and Counsel with the progress and roadblocks encountered on each project. May assist in evaluating the planning for and implementation of the special projects. Assists the Chief of Staff and Counsel in developing objectives and the long/short range strategic plans in accordance with the goals and vision created by the Treasurer. Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or Treasurer’s Office management.
