Open Enrollment 2021

The City of St. Louis will continue to offer employees medical insurance coverage through Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and pharmacy benefits through Express Scripts for the next fiscal year. There will be a 7.7% increase. The new premium rates are reflected on page 15 of your booklet.

The benefits under the medical insurance plans will remain the same with the following benefit improvements:

  • The High Deductible Health Plan will be offered at no cost for employee only coverage
  • Fertility benefits have been added effective June 20, 2021. See page 5 of your booklet.
  • LiveHealth Online will have a $0 copayment under the High Option and Low Option plans.
  • SmartShopper -- This program will make it easier for you to compare information and costs for many common healthcare services.

You will be receiving a new ID CARD in the mail this year. Make sure your home address is up to date.

Following are some important details about open enrollment:

  • Open enrollment - April 26th through May 21, 2021.
  • Making NO changes - take NO action.
  • Adding dependents - complete the carrier enrollment form(s), provide documentation. Required documentation is listed on the City website on the Department of Personnel Employee Benefits page.
  • Dropping dependents, complete the carrier enrollment form(s).

Coverage is effective June 20, 2021. Deductions will be on the paycheck dated July 9, 2021.

YOUR PAYROLL SPECIALIST MUST HAVE CHANGES BY 5:00 P.M. ON MAY 21, 2021.
