National Wear Red Day®
Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the United States. It causes more deaths than all forms of cancer combined. For more than 10 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women. This year, celebrate National Wear Red Day with Go Red For Women on Friday, Feb. 6 to help fight women's No. 1 killer -- heart disease.
There are ways to reduce your risk of becoming a victim of heart disease. These modifiable risk factors include:
- exercising regularly
- refraining from tobacco use
- keeping your blood pressure in the healthy range
- maintaining a healthy weight.
