CERT Program Event
Firefighter Randy Barnes gives a fire demo at a recent employee fair.
This article is 13 years old. It was published on October 17, 2012.
Randy Barnes is a firefighter who selflessly dedicates his time to educate citizens in the Community Emergency Response Program and facilitated a Fire Extinguisher Demonstration at the Cardinal Glennon Employee Disaster Fair on Aug. 30, 2012. He educated several hospital employees in safe operation of a fire extinguisher and led them through a live fire exercise, where each participant was able to safely extinguish a fire.
"Randy's willingness to help with such events is invaluable to our CERT Program," said Sarah L. Gamblin-Luig, Communications Center Coordinator, City Emergency Management Agency (CEMA).
The demonstration was coordinated by CEMA, led by Firefighter Barnes and supported by a local engine company.
If your organization is interested in holding an Employee Disaster Fair or CERT classes, contact CEMA at (314) 622-3501.
