27th Ward Alderman Gregory Carter, 54, was killed while driving a United Parcel Service tractor-trailer in St. Charles County, Missouri on August 1, 2012. Police say Carter, who has been a driver for UPS since 1984, slammed into the back of a Fed Ex tractor-trailer that had stopped on Highway 370 for an accident. Carter had been an Alderman for the City of St. Louis since 1993. (Courtesy of UPI/Carter website)
