This year's City Hall Raffle and Canned Meat Food Drive to benefit Operation Food Search will feature a Grand Prize - a television - as well as restaurant gift cards, prize baskets, and other prizes. The third annual event is sponsored by the employees of the City's Recorder of Deeds and Vital Records Registrar Office.

Raffle Tickets are on sale - $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets - at the City's Recorder and Registrar's Cashiers Dept. in Room 126, City Hall.

Tickets are also awarded for canned meat donations. One ticket will be issued for each can of beef, chicken, pork, or fish (such as soup or stew); box of macaroni and cheese; or jar of peanut butter. Please, no glass jars, gravy, stuffing mix, or canned vegetables.

Two drawings will be held. A drawing at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 15 will feature an Everything Irish Prize Basket and other St. Patrick's Day theme prizes. A drawing at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22 will include the Grand Prize television and other prizes. Tickets purchased for the March 15 drawing will roll over to the March 22 drawing.

In order to win, the ticket must have a legible first and last name and phone number. Winners will be contacted by phone.

All Prizes must be picked up from the Recorder and Registrar Office by 5 p.m. Friday, March 30.

Tickets from both drawings will be saved and prizes not picked up by March 30 will be awarded via a Second Chance Drawing.

Last year's City Hall Raffle and Canned Meat Food Drive raised $1,068.72 in canned goods and money for Operation Food Search.

City employees wishing to sell tickets and be entered in the Ticket Seller Prize Drawing should call (314) 589-8174.
