ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S JULY AUTHORS @ YOUR LIBRARY SERIES SERVES UP SIZZLING SUMMER SPEAKERS

The St. Louis Public Library is proud to serve up some summer reading during its July Authors @ Your Library:  Laura Nowlin and Annie Blum.  All events are FREE and open to the public.

Laura Nowlin discusses and signs her book, If He Had Been With Me.  The event takes place in Central Library's Teen Lounge, 1301 Olive St.on July 13 at 11 a.m.

An incident in middle school puts Finn and Autumn in separate social worlds. Autumn has always wondered "what if." She has the chance to find out when another incident reunites them during senior year. Will Autumn and Finn lose their love or will they remain bonded forever?

* Annie Blum discusses and signs her book, The Steamer Admiral and Streckfus Steamers. The event takes place at Buder Branch4401 Hampton Ave.,on July 20 at 10 a.m.

Blum worked on the Admiral from 1962-1978. The huge, beautiful, all-metal boat with an Art Deco design was the flagship of the Streckfus family company, which ran boats on two major rivers. Live bands provided fun and memories to countless visitors for over 35 years. Using personal reminiscences and historical data, Blum tells the story of the Streckfus' and the story of the remarkable Admiral.
