Congrats to our very own Associate City Counselor, Donald G. Dylewski!! Don will be honored by the Shaw Neighborhood Housing Corporation (SNHC) as the recipient of its 2011 Public Service Award for his work regarding a problem property.
The property located at 4217 Russell Blvd. had not been properly maintained for more than five years. Land Reutilization Authority (LRA) acquired the parcel at a special tax bill sale because of unpaid property maintenance bills. The City Counselor's Office successfully won litigation concerning this parcel in both the Circuit and Appellate Courts. Don's work has allowed Community Development Administration (CDA), LRA and the Shaw Neighborhood Housing Corporation to move forward with plans for transferring the property to a reputable developer for rehabilitation.
The 2011 SNHC Award will be presented at the Shaw Neighborhood Improvement Association Quarterly meeting at 7 p.m. on April 2, 2012. The meeting will be held at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church located at 3854 Flad Street.
Again, "hats off" to Don for a great job!!
