The annual Licensing and Business Resource Fair is a collaboration between the Offices of the License Collector, Michael McMillan, and the Collector of Revenue, Gregory F.X. Daly. The purpose of having this annual event in the community is to increase accessibility and offer time flexibility for those businesses that are delinquent in paying their taxes. This year’s Sixth Annual Licensing & Business Resource Fair was held during the St. Louis Public School’s Back to School and Community Empowerment Festival at Chaifetz Arena in collaboration with the St. Louis Community Empowerment Foundation and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.

Business owners had the opportunity to pay delinquent licensing fees, taxes and penalties that were currently over due; obtain assistance from other City Agencies; and essential services from over 150 service providers, all while pre-registering their children for school. The Back to School & Community Empowerment Festival is the biggest educational event in the region. From book bags to family assistance services, it was all free. Banks including Fifth Third Bank and Midwest Bank Centre were on site to offer financial literacy assistance. The business owner’s entire family benefited from the free health screenings, book bags, school supplies and a host of other free services.
