Staff Honored in Special Ceremony
Monica Patton unanimously selected as the Employee of the Year

Michael McMillan, License Collector, believes that you develop a good staff through structure, professionalism and rewards. Quarterly, he recognizes his staff for their outstanding achievements in job performance and their innovative ideas that improve customer service, efficiency and productivity in the office. The staff is also recognized for volunteerism on special initiatives that benefit the community.
During the December ceremony, McMillan saluted individuals and teams.
- Employee of the Year: Monica Patton, Manager in the Finance Department was unanimously selected as the Employee of the Year for her consistent year long performance, excellence, productivity and team spirit.
Honorees recognized for their outstanding performance each Quarter were:
- 1st Quarter: Alfred Brown received the recognition for his productivity and team spirit in the manufacturing department;
- 2nd Quarter: Mead Ruesing and Richard Davis were both recognized for creative and effective administrative assistance with one of their main projects being the production of a Senior Citizen Discount Book, a 40-page directory of licensed businesses who offer discounts to senior citizens;
- 3rd Quarter: Jarrett Woolfolk was recognized for productivity in the cashier's area of the Finance Department; and
- 4th Quarter: John Clucas was recognized for generating the best collections for the quarter.
Four teams of Honorees, representing a cross section of staff from different departments, were recognized for shared work on special initiatives.
- 1st Quarter: The Manufacturing Industry Briefing production team;
- 2nd Quarter: The Renewal Season Team;
- 3rd Quarter: The Licensing and Business Resource Fair was recognized; and
- 4th Quarter: The team that volunteered for the civic night for the International Church of God in Christ 105th Holy Convocation at the America's Center was recognized.
Two former employees from the Municipal Department returned to receive appreciation awards for the work they completed before leaving their positions for new jobs. Honorees were Nieshia Miller who now works for the Collector of Revenue; and Ben Lambert, who now works for Express Scripts.
