The St. Louis Bi-State Area Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) will host its Annual Spring Convention March 15-17, 2013. The Convention will be held at the Holiday Inn Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri. The convention will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday evening and conclude Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
Fear, loneliness, hopelessness, and embarrassment are some of the many feelings experienced by people suffering from compulsive overeating. The feelings can be hard or almost impossible to overcome alone, but OA, a 12-step program modeled after the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, helps members throughout the world deal with these issues.
The convention program will feature a variety of topics pertaining to OA including working each step of the 12-step program, food plans, recovery from a relapse, the challenges of losing 100+ pounds, body image issues, and other topics.
