Shirley Roland Retires
Congratulations!
This article is 12 years old. It was published on June 1, 2013.
Shirley Roland retires after nearly three decades of work with SLDC/LRA. She began in the financial department of the Land Reutilization Authority on May 20, 1985, and she helped bring the economic development agencies under one umbrella in 1989 as the St. Louis Development Corporation. SLDC and LRA have been her home away from home for the last 28 years. She retired on Friday, May 20, 2013.
Whether it was bank reconciliation, pulling together data for an auditor, or revising a personnel schedule for a CDBG work program, she did it all with a dedication to perfection that would make any CPA proud. We will miss her smile and commitment to good work, the agency and her co-workers.
Our loss is her family’s gain as she trades Excel spreadsheets for chauffeur and baby sitting duty for her 13 grandchildren. If you know Shirley, the thought of all this family time brings a smile to her face.
Happy retirement, Shirley!
