Description

Broadway (Fiddler on the Roof) actress and Grammy-nominated singer Alexandra Silber, whom The New York Times has called “glamorous and hyper articulate” makes her Blue Strawberry debut in an evening of song and story. Featuring an eclectic array of music spanning folk, jazz, standards and Broadway favorites, this show was named on the the Top 10 Best Cabaret Events by Broadway World. “[Silber] moves effortlessly from lyrical soprano singing to full-on Broadway belting right through her hilarious and sometimes touching talkie bits and back again. With a seemingly indestructible larynx that can give over sounds ranging from blaring trumpet to low low growls to high HIGH trills, oftentimes within the same composition. Her Broadway-caliber vocals applied to this music showed the full extent of her impressive range.” Alexandra Silber is an actress, Grammy-nominated singer, and author. In London’s West End she played starring roles in Indecent, The Woman in White, Fiddler on the Roof, Kiss Me Kate and Carousel. In New York, she’s appeared in Hello Again, Master Class, She Loves Me, Song of Norway, Arlington, and the 2016 Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Alexandra is a Grammy-nominee for her portrayal of Maria in the symphonic recording of West Side Story, with the San Francisco Symphony. Her debut novel "After Anatevka,” and memoir "White Hot Grief Parade" are both published by Pegasus Books and also available on Audible.com. Ben Moss, Accompanist — Ben is a Lucille Lortel Award-winning singer, pianist, music director, actor, orchestrator and writer that the New York Times calls “a priceless collaborator." He was most recently the music director, co-orchestrator, and a cast member of Heather Christian's acclaimed, award-winning and sold-out Oratorio for Living Things at Ars Nova, directed by Lee Sunday Evans. In 2014, Ben appeared alongside Grammy Award-nominee Alexandra Silber in Polly Pen and Victor Lodato's chamber opera Arlington at the Vineyard Theater, directed by Carolyn Cantor. Ben has since appeared alongside Alexandra Silber on the Audible.com recording of their concert After Anatevka, which they also perform across the country.
