Come hear a night of flamenco as you find it in the bars of Andalusian Spain. Blue Strawberry presents flamenco guitar virtuoso Juan Carmona and his band on Sunday, July 16th. Widely regarded as one of the greatest living flamenco guitarists, Juan Carmona comes to the intimate Blue Strawberry for a night of unparalleled flamenco music. Although deeply connected to his Andalusian roots (Carmona is related to the Habichuela flamenco guitar dynasty from Granada), Carmona stands as an innovator. He is one of the most creative guitarists of the new flamenco generation, garnering Latin Grammy nominations for Best Flamenco Album of the Year five times. Opener: Farshid Etniko Farshid has performed with world renown Grand Masters: Imrat Khan Sitar, Irish Pipes wizard Paddy Keenen, Paquito & Sandro Lorier Gypsies from France and virtuoso artists from St. Louis such as Guitarist Dave Black, Harmonica Sandy Weltman, Piano Carolbeth True, Piano Phil Gomez, Bass Willem Von Hombracht, Guitarist Tom Byrne, etc. His group was opening act for Carlos Santana, B52, Angelique Kidjo, Taj Mahal, Cassandra Wilson, Greg Adams, Shahin & Sepehre.More Information
