Description
Great Rivers Greenway and collaborative partners are celebrating the new St. Vincent Greenway expansion between St. Vincent County Park and the Rock Road Metro Station. The event is free and open to the public and includes: dessert, transportation safety activities, and a guided greenway walk or bike ride. Ribbon cutting ceremony at St. Vincent County Park will begin at 6:15 p.m. Guided walk and bike ride leave St. Vincent County Park at 6:30 p.m. A joint effort between Great Rivers Greenway, MoDOT, Metro St. Louis and St. Louis County Parks, the new section of the St. Vincent Greenway connects Pagedale community to the Rock Road Metro Station and existing greenway in St. Vincent County Park. The expansion was built alongside MoDOT’s current improvements to St. Charles Rock Road, leveraging taxpayers’ investment by saving time and money with one collaborative project. With many homes and businesses along this stretch of St. Charles Rock Road, new green paint, pavement markings and signage create high visibility and enhances safety for all travelers. A new pedestrian crossing has also been added at St. Charles Rock Road at 70th Street. This expansion will eventually connect into the future St. Vincent Greenway connector through Pagedale to Wellston, slated to be completed in 2024-2025.More Information
