Youth, ages 5-9, with their grownup, are invited to join us for drop-in story time and fun, hands-on activities. Join us this week to delve into some amazing books and explore our creativity through art. Join us on select Saturdays, 10-11:30 am, for storytime & creative play. Explore the exhibit through a youth tour and storytime! Kiddos ages 5-9 enjoy the opportunity to create their own project similar to the work in the exhibition. This is an excellent chance to express your uniqueness and learn more about different cultures. We will share our projects and experiences, so enjoy the fun! Everyone is welcome, no matter your artistic ability. Let's inspire each other and create something beautiful! Remember....you can explore the exhibition Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-6 pm, from August 4-October 28, 2023 About the Exhibition: Discover new perspectives on landscape, history, and the possibilities of printmaking in this remarkable exhibition showcasing contemporary Native artists. Experience St. Louis in a new light as a historic Indigenous hub of encounter and exchange, transcending its colonialist title, “Gateway to the West.” Revel in the evocative medium of printmaking, where artists masterfully layer imagery, text, and memories to explore themes such as migration, ancestry, and language. This exhibition is organized by heather ahtone (Choctaw/Chickasaw), Director of Curatorial Affairs at Oklahoma City’s First Americans Museum, and Marwin Begaye (Navajo), Professor of Painting and Printmaking at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Visual Arts. They have collaborated with Jennifer Scanlan, Deputy Director at Craft Alliance, to bring this exhibition to life.
