Type: Community Event

Admission: Free. Attendees must register online.

Description

During a time of legalized racial discrimination, many African American travelers relied on the Green Book, a travel guide published annually from the 1930s to the 1960s that identified businesses that were open to them. Great Rivers Greenway and the Noir Bookshop are hosting Green Book on the Greenway: The Negro Traveler’s Green Book and St. Louis. During this free, two-part program, registered attendees can learn about and see the sites of some of the local places and services listed in the Green Book.
