Join us for the 8th Annual Veterans Day 5K, Presented by Keeley Companies, at Soldier's Memorial in Downtown St. Louis on Saturday, November 11, 2023! We welcome wheelchairs, strollers, and dogs on the race path, too! All proceeds from the event go to St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, where their purpose is to transform lives through sustainable housing, employment, and healthcare. Last year, because of the generous contributions of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, the agency assisted 4,462 clients total, of which 813 were Veterans. St. Patrick Center was able to connect 93 veterans with jobs and place 340 veterans and their families in permanent housing. All because of the support of our donors, sponsors and volunteers, several programs are dedicated solely to helping Veterans and their families get back on their feet. Through their contributions, Project HERO, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the U.S. Veterans Administration, is able to work with Veterans to improve their overall quality of life through mental health counseling, transportation access, and employment services. This program is housed at Freedom Place, a 50-unit apartment complex reserved for male Veterans experiencing homelessness along with substance abuse disorders and/or mental health issues. Due to these efforts, the St. Louis community becomes a better place for everyone to live and work because of the lives transformed through sustainable housing, employment, and healthcare. As part of our Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk this year, we are including an option for you to participate in our Fundraiser to End Veteran Homelessness. This is your chance to take a stand against Veteran homelessness by having people in your network donate to your fundraiser through your social media channels and websites.
