Description

The Community Engagement Forum is evidence-based educational outreach centered on narrative storytelling with My Mama Joe, Hope & Help. The 1 hour documentary film which streams and broadcasts on the PBS platform, features the journey of a family caregiving for their matriarch as a person living with dementia. The film is part of The Mama Joe Project, an initiative focused on supporting caregivers, promoting healthy aging, and improving outcomes for families navigating Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. The event is FREE, open to all ages and audiences, and includes a post-film Q&A session with a panel of local experts and practitioners. Local agencies and organizations will be present as part of a mini-info fair, and each person will receive a resource guide, and complimentary concessions combo. The goal is for individuals and families to better connect with information, resources, and social networks to improve their health and quality of life.
