Description

This free tour of Mill Creek: Black Metropolis invites visitors to explore the powerful story of St. Louis’s Mill Creek neighborhood—a once-thriving Black community of 20,000 residents, 43 churches, and over 800 businesses that were demolished in 1959 in the name of urban renewal. This exhibit seeks to reclaim Mill Creek’s legacy and honor the resilience of those who lived there.
