Description
It's ALWAYS something exciting happening at Progressive Emporium & Education Center! Please come out to meet, greet and pick up the co-authored book by mother-daughter duo Arika and Ava Parr who will sign autographs of their 1st book "But What Can I Do?" The book signing is from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Progressive Emporium at 1108 N. Sarah Street. From a very young age, Arika Parr loved words and creative writing. Her passion for storytelling propelled her career as a TV & radio producer and community development professional. When she was blessed with Ava, her vivacious young daughter with an innate curiosity, joy for life and enthusiasm she merged this with a focus of children's real-life challenges. Her desire to create social and emotional learning solutions through storytelling, in hopes of providing support and inspiration for her and other kids and parents, has been quite successful. The book has been used as a tool for parents and educators to help children (ages 3 - 9) and manage "big feelings" and celebrate finding their unique strengths. The book was published in 2023. In March 2025 the book was adapted into a stage play by the Metro Theater Company in St. Louis. Come out next Saturday to hear the lyrical, thoughtful, storytelling by the mommy–daughter duo’s first book, “BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO?” a beautiful lyrical story for kids about perseverance and positive thinking.More Information
