This inaugural annual ceremony marks the City’s first centralized recognition program honoring the more than 3,000 city employees who keep St. Louis running every day—from frontline crews to behind-the-scenes administrative staff. The ceremony will honor exceptional contributions across seven categories: • Frontline & Trades Hero Award – Field, maintenance, and trades personnel. •Behind-the-Scenes Hero Award – IT, payroll, administrative, and legal staff. • Resilience & Emergency Response Award – Exceptional service during crises and severe weather events. • Gateway Public Service Award – Resident-facing and community-centered service. • Innovation & Efficiency Award – Process modernization and cost savings. • Civil Service Rising Star Award – Early-career talent with under five years of municipal service. • Mayor's Choice Award – The premier honor recognizing overall excellence across municipal service.
