Today, the Board of Aldermen President’s Office released its annual end of session report, highlighting key accomplishments from the 2025–2026 legislative session.

Under the leadership of President Megan E. Green, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen advanced policies to make housing more affordable and accessible. Legislation signed into law raises occupancy limits (BB 18), reduces lot size requirements (BB 42), and legalizes accessory dwelling units (BB 60). Amendments to the City’s Prop NS program (BB 87) further support the stabilization and rehabilitation of City-owned properties, returning more homes to the market. Together, these efforts expand housing options and address the City’s need for greater density and affordability.

The Board also prioritized programs that help residents remain in their homes by securing long-term funding for the Right to Counsel Program and the Impacted Tenants Fund through new taxes on short-term rental operators, including Airbnb and VRBO (BB 126).

In addition, the Board dedicated significant attention to tornado recovery efforts including the establishment of the City’s Tornado Relief and Recovery Fund (BB 31) which supports home repairs, relocation assistance, infrastructure restoration, and financial assistance for nonprofit organizations working directly in impacted communities. To date, the Board of Aldermen has allocated approximately $43 million to support tornado recovery.

“These policies are about making it affordable for people to live, work, and stay in St. Louis,” said President Megan E. Green.

A complete recap of the Board’s legislative accomplishments is available in the President’s End of Session Report.

The final meeting of the Full Board of Aldermen takes place on Monday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m. The 2026–2027 legislative session begins the following day, Tuesday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m.
