Comptroller Darlene Green Receives the Distinguished Dr. Henry Givens, Jr. Legacy Award
Comptroller Darlene Green was recently recognized at the 37th Anniversary Kick-off Program for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.
Comptroller Darlene Green was recently recognized by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Celebration Commission of Missouri, as the recipient of the Commission’s 2023 Distinguished Dr. Henry Givens, Jr. Legacy Award. The Dr. Henry Givens, Jr. Legacy Award recognizes a person who demonstrates qualities promoting social justice, racial harmony, and civic rights, with a commitment to education and community ideals espoused by the late Dr. Henry Givens, Jr. She was honored for keeping the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Comptroller Green was also publicly acknowledged her outstanding commitment to public service and her tireless efforts to exemplify Dr. King’s ideals and principles.
This prestigious award ceremony took place at the 37th Anniversary Kick-off Program for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statewide Celebration Commission for the State of Missouri, and was held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Harris-Stowe State University.
Comptroller Darlene Green is the chief fiscal officer of the City of St. Louis and is charged with safeguarding the city’s credit rating and with protecting taxpayer dollars.
