Comptroller Darlene Green, PNC Bank and NABA to host Free Tax Preparation

Free tax preparation and filing is available for St. Louis residents earning up to $58,000 annually

Free tax preparation for St. Louis area residents will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 and Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

Comptroller Darlene Green has joined forces with PNC Bank and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) to host a Free Tax Preparation workshop at the William J. Harrison Education Center. The address is 3140 Cass Avenue, which is located across from Vashon High School. Taxes will be prepared both days between 4:30-8:30 p.m.

The event is being held in the evening as a convenience for working adults. Taxpayers should arrive early and come prepared. They should bring photo identification, social security cards, W-2's, 1099 forms, a copy of last year's taxes and the appropriate banking information for their refund.

Tax professionals will prepare and electronically file 2014 Federal and State Returns at no cost to residents. They will also prepare and electronically file 2013 and 2012 returns free of charge. This program is open to residents in St. Louis city, county and in the metro east. This year's tax filing deadline is Wednesday, April 15th. Refunds are generally received in less than 21 days, direct deposits can be received within 7 days.
