Pay Your Personal Property Tax

Personal property taxes are due by December 31st of each year.

Overview

Personal property taxes are levied annually against tangible personal property and due upon receipt of the tax bill, but no later than December 31 each year.

The Personal Property Tax Department of the Collector of Revenue collects taxes on all motorized vehicles, boats, recreational vehicles, and motorcycles.

In-Person

  1.  Visit the Personal Property Tax Department of the Collector of Revenue office at: 

    City Hall
    1200 Market St. - Room 109 
    St. Louis, MO. 63103

    Monday - Friday 
    8:00am - 5:00pm  

  2. Be sure to have your current driver's license or state ID
  3. After payment you will receive receipt of your paid person property tax. 

By Mail

  1. Write a check for the amount due to:

    Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue

  2. Mail check and bill stub to:

    Collector of Revenue
    City Hall Room 109 
    1200 Market Street 
    St. Louis, MO 63103-2895 

Online

The Collector of Revenue accepts online payments through the online payment portal PayIt.

  1.  Go to PayitStlouis.com 
  2. Follow the prompts to sign up or to continue as a guest
  3. Enter your property address to find the correct property taxes
  4. Use a credit or Debit card to pay your personal property taxes.
  5. After successful payment you will be send a receipt to the email you used to sign up.

Fees vary based on Property Tax amounts.

What to Expect

  • After payment you will receive receipt of your paid person property tax. 
  • If you are Delinquent on your personal property taxes the Collector of Revenue files suit in the Circuit Court. Court costs and attorney's fees are assessed against the account as dictated by Missouri Statute.
