About members and employer contributions
Member Contributions
Prior to 1977, the plan required employee contributions. However, since 1977, the System is non-contributory. Members do not contribute to the System.
Employer Contributions
Each Employer of the Retirement System contributes at a rate established annually by the Board of Trustees. Employer contributions and earnings on investments cover the full cost of benefits.
