Submit a Project to the IT Governance Committee

The purpose of this submission process is to help determine whether a requested project meets the appropriate criteria consideration of the City IT Governance Committee.

You will be submitting your request through the ITSA Service Desk portal. Here is a printable version of the form you will be submitting via the portal. Review this form and draft out your responses to make online submittal faster/easier on yourself. 

1. Navigate to the City single sign-on site (the same site where you submit your timesheets).
2. Log in with your username (city email address or employee number), password and two-factor authentication.
3. Choose ITSA Help Desk from My Apps.
4. Choose the Service Catalog button on the left.
5. Underneath All Services, choose Project, then choose Project Request.
6. Complete the request form and then click the Request Item button at the top right of the screen.

After submitting your project request via the ITSA Service Desk portal, the request will then take one of two paths:

• Enhancement/Change Request: If the effort can be handled with existing city staff/resources (ie: is an enhancement or change to existing systems), the request ticket will be re-assigned to the appropriate ITSA team for fulfillment.
• Strategic Project: If the request meets specific criteria—such as exceeding a certain budget (e.g., $500,000 or more), requiring procurement, or impacting a wide scale of users (over 500 users)—it will be deemed a “project” and referred to the Technology Project Governance Committee for formal review.

If the project request is deemed to be a Strategic Project, it will be assigned to an ITSA project leader to assist you with completing a rough order of magnitude.

Lastly, you will be advised of the next available date to present your project request to the IT Project Governance Committee.
