City of St Louis’ Division of Corrections Set to Host First-Ever Job Fair Focused on the Recruitment of Correctional Officers
The St. Louis City Justice Center will be hiring on-the-spot for Correctional Officers I and II.
St. Louis, MO — The City of St. Louis Division of Corrections is pleased to announce its first- ever Job Fair, a targeted recruitment initiative aimed at filling critical vacancies with a primary focus on hiring Correctional Officers.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at City Hall.
The Job Fair will facilitate an efficient, streamlined hiring process, allowing qualified candidates to apply, interview, and receive conditional offers of employment during the event.
Key Features of the Event Include:
- Immediate submission of applications on-site through the Department of Personnel
- On-the-spot interviews conducted by Division of Corrections hiring representatives
- Conditional employment offers extended during the event, subject to successful completion of background investigations and drug screening
This initiative underscores the Division of Corrections’ commitment to attracting highly qualified candidates and expediting the onboarding process to meet staffing demands.
“We are entering an important phase of organizational growth,” said Nate Hayward, Commissioner of Corrections. “This Job Fair reflects our dedication to strengthening our workforce to effectively address challenges and enhance the quality of care provided to those in our custody.”
In addition to Division of Corrections vacancies, representatives from key partner organizations will be present to recruit for related roles, including:
- St. Louis Sheriff’s Office (Deputies)
- Physician Correctional USA (Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses)
- Summit Food Service (Food Service Support and Cook Supervisors)
Candidate Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 19 years of age and possess a minimum of six months of work experience. Prior corrections experience and city residency are not required.
