Empower Families Program
Strengthening youth and families through leadership, mentorship, and holistic support for lifelong success.
Program Overview
The Empower Families program, operated by my180 Youth, engages youth and families in the City of St. Louis through programs that foster leadership development, strengthen family dynamics, and provide essential knowledge and resources to support children's growth. By working with both youth and their families, the program creates a holistic support system that encourages positive development and long-term success.
Families have access to workshops such as "Tapping Our Parental Power (TOPP)," which equips parents and guardians with strategies to build strong school-home connections, navigate societal changes, and develop conflict resolution skills. These sessions provide families with tools to actively support their children's academic, emotional, and social well-being.
Additionally, youth participate in programs like the Empower Leadership initiative and mentoring opportunities designed to promote self-awareness, leadership development, and resilience. Through these programs, young people receive guidance and support in overcoming personal and academic challenges, empowering them to make positive choices for their future.
The program is funded by Prop S for 2025.
