LifeWise STL Enrichment Programs

Empowering youth through education, enrichment, and life skills—LifeWise STL’s programs help children and teens thrive in school and beyond.

Program Overview

LifeWise STL offers a variety of youth enrichment programs including the Children's Defense Fund Freedom School, Academy Prep program, and LiseWise Academy program. These programs focus on empowering children to positively impact themselves, their families, and the world.

The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom School offers critical programs that are crucial to student success. By offering summer reading enrichment to children, the program counters summer learning loss and narrows achievement gaps by providing youth the opportunity to hone their reading, comprehension, and literary skills by access to programs, books, and support that they otherwise would not receive.

The Academy Prep program provides a robust academic support system that is complimented by various extracurricular activities designed to foster well-rounded development, enriching the educational experience of young scholars.

The LifeWise Academy provides additional academic enrichment, social-emotional support, life skills, and job readiness activities to teens during a critical period of development so that they are better prepared for joining post-secondary institutions and/or the workforce.

The programs are funded by Prop S for 2025.

The programs are operated by LifeWise STL: https://www.lifewisestl.org/

Program Eligibility

The programs are available to youth who are residents of the City of St. Louis and range between ages 6 to 18.
