SLATE Announces Dates for November Job Seeker Workshops

SLATE MISSOURI CAREER CENTER, overseen by THE ST. LOUIS AGENCY ON TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT (SLATE), unveiled its lineup of November workshops designed to help job seekers to find employment. Each course offers competitive advantages to anyone in the job market. The workshops are offered at no cost, but seating is limited and a referral from a SLATE staff member is required to attend. The following workshops are available:

Resume Preparation:
This workshop will explain the importance of resumes and cover letters; discuss the different types of resumes and their components; help you to identify the skills needed for a desired position; and effective methods of conveying job-related and transferable skills.

Workplace Readiness:
Discover what employers are looking for when they hire a new employee; learn how to prepare and conduct an effective job search using a variety of methods and tips on online applications. Learn why the employers don't respond to your resume and what can you do about it. Practice your interviewing skills and more.

Interview Process:
Identify techniques for creating a positive first impression during the interview process. Review commonly asked interview questions; discuss answers to difficult interview questions. Learn about the different types of interview with tips and strategies for each.
