Overview
The Street Department requires a permit to operate a valet stand. Read below to learn how to apply for, pay and retrieve your valet stand permit.
Preparation
Assemble the following information:
- The address where the stand will be placed
- Your/your business's contact information
- The name of the establishment you will be serving
- Days and hours you will be operating
- Information about where you will park the cars
- A list of the numbers of all meters you will need to block with vehicles (you will need to rent these)
For documents, we accept .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tiff, .bmp, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .csv, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx and .zip files under 50 MB.
The system allows you to upload a maximum of 20 documents with your application. You may upload more documents via case manager after you submit.

Fees
- Meter fees: $1.00 an hour, per meter, up to 7:00 pm
- Valet fee: $20 daily
Payment processing fees will be displayed before you complete your transaction.
What to Expect
- After submitting your application, you’ll get a confirmation email with an application ID.
- You can track your status anytime on the Track and Manage a Case, Permit, or License page.
- We’ll review your application and check for any unpaid city invoices.
- If approved, you can pay online and download your permit, or pay in person at the Street Department office.
- View the instructions to make a payment to the Street Department.
