Overview
To help residents quickly verify that your business is licensed, certified, and insured, we highly encourage all contractors interested in working in the tornado-impacted area of the City of St. Louis to register online through the STL Recovers Contractor Registration Portal. The City will verify contractors’ licenses, insurance and certifications and provide them with a placard that allows residents to easily access those records and make informed decisions about who to hire for their tornado damage projects.
The City may also contact you regarding opportunities to work on City relief efforts.

Preparation
Assemble Information
Before submitting your information to the contractor registration portal, please ensure you have the following information ready:
- Name and address of your business
- Your name and contact information
- A copy of your City of St. Louis business license (you may apply for one if you don't have one already)
- Certificate of liability Insurance and its expiration date
- Certificates of worker's compensation and auto liability insurance, if applicable
- Any relevant trade certificates
- Which projects you would like to work on and a description of your experience in each area
Terms and Conditions
When you submit your application, you will need to agree to the following:
- To maintain a copy of registration placard on-site while working in the impacted area and allow any interested parties to view the placard and scan the QR code within
- Not to share or falsify the placard
- Perform quality work in-full and per terms of contract
- Apply for permits when required, per the City of St. Louis
- Maintain City business license, insurance and/or appropriate certification(s) if applicable

What to Expect
- After registration, you will receive an email with your STL Recovers Registered Contractor Placard.
- The placard will be conditional until documents have been reviewed and verified.
- Once documents have been verified, you will be emailed a final placard.
- Both versions of placards will feature a QR code that links to a contractor profile page where documentation will be made publicly available.
- You will need to maintain a copy of the registration placard on-site while working in the impacted area and allow any interested parties to view the placard and scan the QR code.
Additional Information
A publicly viewable contractor registry will be forthcoming after contractors have had an opportunity to submit.
