Week-long training session held in June
This article is 12 years old. It was published on August 1, 2013.
The St. Louis Fire Department and SAK Construction coordinated a week-long training session at Fire HQ in June to review the construction details for the MSD South Area dig. The 40-hour course involved all members of the Department across all shifts that are assigned either to the fire districts located within the project or firefighters assigned to the highly specialized Collapse Rescue Task Force. This education and training session provided all parties involved with the ability to establish a pre-incident response plan, fostering a greater level of safety for the workers on this important project.

Part of the training involved wearing specialized breathing equipment for a number of hours.
