First Alert Donates CO Alarms
St. Louis Fire Department urges residents to install carbon monoxide detectors
This article is 13 years old. It was published on March 1, 2012.
Many thanks to First Alert for its recent donation of 150 carbon monoxide alarms for St. Louis families. Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson accepted the donation on behalf of the City of St. Louis.

Last month, the poisoning of several children and the death of their mother were a terrifying reminder that accidental carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning can happen any time. There is no typical situation for accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. The St. Louis Fire Department urges everyone to install CO detectors to protect their families and to remember that those detectors do not replace smoke alarms. Both are required to keep families safe.
If you are interested in obtaining one of the CO alarms, please call the St. Louis Fire Department HQ at (314) 533-3406 to set up an appointment for installation.
