Description

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the City of St. Louis until 5 pm.  Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

At 1:09 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This  will cause urban and small stream flooding. Expect 1 to 3 inches of rain in a short period of time.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
