Description

The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is scheduled to take place this weekend. Closures of roadways are expected to accommodate the Balloon Glow on Friday, September 18, 2026, and the Balloon Race on Saturday, September 19, 2026. 

Road Closures for September 18th and 19th, 2026

  1. Eastbound and westbound exit ramps at I-64 and Hampton Ave. will be CLOSED from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 18, and beginning at 3:00 pm on Saturday Sept. 19.
     
  2. Hospital Drive at Kingshighway Blvd. will be CLOSED, and Steinberg Skating Rink parking lot is CLOSED for construction.
     

  3. Clayton Avenue underpass at Kingshighway will be open to pedestrians & vehicle traffic with special event access only.
