Sunshine Law Requests

Sunshine Law/public records requests are submitted through GOV/QA, a system that allows users to:

1. Search previous similar requests.
2. Monitor trending topics with records releases, and search previous similar requests from the "Public Records Archive" tab (or button) in GOV/QA.
3. Create an account to compile and track their requests, communication, invoices, payments, and released records all in one convenient location.

This system is used by:

• City of St. Louis
• Medical Examiner's Office
• St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC)
• St. Louis Metropolitan Police (SLMPD)

Before submitting a new Sunshine Request, we recommend that you first check the City's Open Data catalog to see whether the information you want is already available.

To submit a request:

1. Click the "Begin online" button below to access the system.
2. Click "Submit a Sunshine Law and Public Records Request".
3. Choose the group of departments to request records from.
4. Review the "Trending Topics" to see if the information you want is already available.
5. If the information is not already available, click the "Submit a Sunshine Law and Public Records Request..." button.
6. Create a new account, or log in if you already have an account.
7. Use the provided form to submit your request.
