The SLAAA Board of Directors provides leadership and oversight to ensure aging services are effective, equitable, and fiscally responsible. Board members guide long-term planning, support community partnerships, and help align programs and resources with the diverse needs of older adults so they can age safely and independently in their communities.
Mayoral Executive Order 88 established the Board.

Role of the Board
The SLAAA Board of Directors provides strategic leadership to advance a coordinated, community-based system of services that promotes equity, independence, and the ability of older adults to age in place with dignity and choice. By guiding future-focused planning, ensuring fiscal stewardship, and strengthening community partnerships, Board members help align programs and resources with the diverse and evolving needs of older adults across the planning area. Through shared governance, advocacy, and community connection, the Board supports SLAAA’s mission and ensures accountability to the principles of the Older Americans Act and the Area Plan on Aging.
