The Recruitment and Examination Section implements recruitment strategies, administers examinations, establishes eligible lists, and contracts for temporary services.
The Department of Personnel is continuing to provide essential services to Civil Service City employees, retirees, applicants and the general public. To help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, these essential services will not be provided in person. The normal hours for the Department of Personnel are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All general business and public inquiries for assistance should be communicated via telephone or email. The Recruitment and Examination Section is responsible for administering a multifaceted program that carries out various staffing functions for all departments and agencies within the City of St. Louis merit system.
