Youth Excelling and Aiming Higher (YEAH) After School Program

Youth Excelling and Aiming Higher After-school Program (YEAH) provides programming focused on cognitive and behavioral health and socio-emotional wellness.

Program Overview

The Youth Excelling and Aiming Higher After-school Program (YEAH), operated by Behavioral Health Response (BHR), offers youth programs to build academic success and help address behavioral health needs. Youth at Carr and Gateway Middle Schools are engaged in educational experiences to decrease the likelihood of committing or becoming victims of violence. Homework assistance and reading support provide youth with a safe space to get additional help in their academics. The academic services help set the youth up for success at school.

Additionally, youth engage with staff in both group and one-on-one settings. The youth sessions are led by trained professionals that help model, encourage, and teach healthy behaviors that build resiliency and self-esteem. Youth also have access to therapy with a licensed counselor to help address mental health needs of family needs.

The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
