The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has granted an exemption to the City of St. Louis Refuse Division, temporarily suspending the requirement to separate solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste prior to taking materials to landfills. This is a temporary exemption, in place due to the May 16 tornado’s impact on city services.
Recycling drop off centers, for residential use only, will continue to collect and process recyclables, and residents may bring them to these locations.
