City of St. Louis Teams Up With Clark-Fox Family Foundation and Local Partners on Trick or Tree™ Collection to Restore Tree Canopy
In an effort to restore the tree canopy and its many benefits to the St. Louis neighborhoods damaged by the May 16 tornado, the City of St. Louis Recovery Office is proud to partner with the Clark-Fox Family Foundation, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, Forest Park Forever and Commerce Bank on the Trick or Tree™ drive that will mobilize children across the region to collect donations while trick or treating on Oct. 31, 2025, with all funds directly supporting tree-replanting efforts in tornado-impacted neighborhoods.

Mayor Executive Order No. 90
An Executive Order instructing the Building Commissioner and Cultural Resources Office, and other City departments and agencies, to exercise their discretion to expedite permit applications for property damaged by the May 16, 2025, tornado, and to expedite permit applications needed to expand the availability of housing for people displaced by that tornado.

- 8/28/25: Residents, business owners and community members are invited to apply to the Resident and Community Recovery Advisory Committee.
- 8/25/25: Information for City residents about permits and approvals for impacted properties.
- 8/20/25: The Recovery Office is asking landlords to share information about their vacant rental units to support residents impacted by the May 16 tornado.
- 8/08/25: The Disaster Recovery Center at Sumner High School will close permanently on August 11 at 7pm. Others will remain open.
- 8/07/25: The deadline to apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance has been extended to August 26.
- 8/04/25: Funding assistance for non-profit organizations through the Tornado Relief and Recovery Fund is now available.
- 8/01/25: Property Tax Relief Application for Tornado-Damaged Properties Now Available Via Assessor's Office
- 7/31/25: Disaster Assistance and Other Relief Programs Available for Tornado-Impacted Residents
- 7/14/25: Stay safe in areas where the City is conducting emergency demolitions.
- 7/11/25: Overnight shelters for tornado-impacted residents have now closed. See the general housing help page for additional resources.
