The donation of $36,949 provides the necessary funding in order for the St. Louis Fire Department to secure an EZ-Scape Self Rescue Belt for every fire fighting position.

The EZ-Scape Self Rescue Belts are integrated into each firefighter Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). An SCBA is the air tank a firefighter wears to provide breathable air for respiratory protection. The EZ-Scape Self Rescue Belt will provide each firefighter with a means of escape from dangers when working two or more stories above the ground. The EZ-Scape Self Rescue Belts will allow firefighters to safely exit upper floors of a building through a window if they become trapped by the path of a fire.

St. Louis Fire Department and Missouri Department of Insurance officials, firefighters, executives and employees from PIP and Fireman's Fund will come together for a special public event where the grant package will be presented.
